SCOTA Events

SCOTA board members have been busy creating opportunities for members to network, socialize, and earn CEUs. In April, there were two events that proved to be both successful and fun.

On April 21, the Piedmont District held a continuing education event and dinner in Spartanburg, SC. This 1 credit course showed attendees how to utilize a video game approach for upper extremity rehabilitation. This client-centered and evidence-based approach to rehab was developed through a partnership between MUSC and Clemson University. For more information about this product see http://recovrinc.com.

On April 23, the Lowcountry District sponsored the 3rd Annual SCOTA Picnic at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mt. Pleasant. This event was a fun opportunity to eat and socialize with other OTs and their families in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Be sure to check out our Events page to see what events are planned next!

2017 TOURNAMENT OF ROSESĀ® PARADE

The profession of occupational therapy will kick of its centennial year with a float in the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade! The theme for this year's parade is "Echoes of Success" - a perfect match for occupational therapy! The California Occupational Therapy Association is sponsoring the design of the float and needs our donations! SCOTA has committed to making a donation on the behalf of our members. We challenge each of you to make your own donations. Additionally, for anyone who is willing to make a $500 donation, SCOTA will provide you with free advertising in our newsletter and on our website for 6 months! For more information about the free advertising, please contact our administrator at adminscota@gmail.com
